Established in 2003, Rovio has been making smash hit games and entertainment for over 16 years.
51 games later, near bankruptcy, and in need of a big hit, Rovio develops its 52nd game, Angry Birds, in eight months. Downloads of the game fly to dizzying heights in a matter of weeks and it becomes one of the biggest mobile games and entertainment brand success stories of all time.
Rovio reaches 4 billion downloads across all of its games. To date, the games have been played in remote locations such as Antarctica and even on the International Space Station.
Rovio Entertainment Corporation acquired 100% shares in Ruby Games, a hyper-casual studio based in Izmir Turkey. Ruby Games is the creator of the hit game Hunter Assassin, the sixth most downloaded game in the world in 2020.
