LKAB Minerals is internationally active in the industrial minerals market and holds a leading position within a number of product applications. LKAB Minerals is part of LKAB, a Swedish state-owned company and one of the world’s leading producers of highly upgraded iron ore products. LKAB started operations in 1890 and today produces close to 27 million tonnes iron ore products and is a growing supplier of minerals, services, and high-tech products for mining and other industries.
LKAB is divided into two divisions; Business Area Iron Ore that represent the majority of the LKAB business and has been in operation since 1890.
The other division, the Business Area Special Products (BASP) consists of businesses that either develop and supply products and services to LKAB to increase competitiveness or to create value in other markets. This includes water-powered drilling solutions, explosives, mechanical services, and mining and construction services – and industrial minerals.
Likya Minerals is the Turkish mineral company that extracts and processes our products marketed as UltraCarb. Likya Minerals is a joint venture and partly owned by LKAB Minerals.
