İzmir is a city with approximately 12,000 MW of potential wind power.
İzmir embodies 19% of the total installed wind power in Turkey with 1333 MW of installed power.
İzmir will have 1373 MW of installed power when the projects under construction with a total of 44 MW power are completed.
There are production centers of German Enercon, USA based TPI and Danish LM. In addition to the global firms, many domestic companies such as Ateşçelik, Egekule, Dirinler Makine, Tibet Makine contribute to the ecosystem by producing wind turbine equipment.
İzmir aims to reach an additional installed power of 2540 MW until 2023. This represents a market of 3.2 billion euros.
By 2023, approximately a 15 billion Euro of wind energy equipment purchase will be made. İzmir has the potential of managing this 15 billion Euro wind energy equipment market in Turkey.
İzmir is in the middle of a market that is estimated to reach 200 million Euros in 2023. It is also at a location to provide services for the 65% of the installed power in Turkey within 1 to 3 hours for maintenance, repair and service operations.
