İzmir Atatürk Organized Industrial Zone, one of the most important production, employment and export centers in Türkiye has been operating since 1990. The Zone has a total area of 6.240.000 m2 located in the northwest of İzmir, 20 km away from İzmir Port, 45 km away from the Airport and 8 km away from the customshouse for trucks. İAOSB is connected to airport, bus terminal, port and city center with peripheral highway.
572 companies operate in the Zone providing an employment of 40.000 people in textile, ready made garments, machine, automotive, metal, plastics, chemicals, food, electric and electronics sectors. Annual turnover, exports and imports of companies value 7,8 billion, 2,5 billion and 1 billion USD respectively. The annual consumption of natural gas is approximately 120 million m3, that of electricity is 700 million kWh and of water is 4 million m3.
