HUAWEI WILL WORK TOGETHER WITH İZMİR BASED ORBIT ENERGY TO PRODUCE DOMESTIC LITHIUM BATTERIES

Huawei launches new collaborations for green and sustainable telecom solutions around the world and in Türkiye. Huawei Türkiye signed a “Lithium Battery Local Production Cooperation” agreement with Orbit Energy. Huawei Türkiye and Orbit Energy will collaborate on the production of household lithium batteries and energy storage systems (ESS). In addition, the R&D experts of the two companies will develop many software specifically for “Battery Management Systems” aimed at increasing the share of renewable energy and reducing CO2 emissions. This cooperation is expected to make a significant contribution to the Clean Energy and CleanTech Cluster in İzmir.

Gavin Zhao, President of Digital Power Business Group of Huawei Türkiye, said at the signing ceremony; “We are working on developing solutions in the field of telecommunications with less energy consumption. More renewable energy sources make investments more efficient for local operators and businesses. This partnership with a professional partner, Orbit Energy, will also support local and national production and expand the eco-energy ecosystem in Türkiye. It is also pleasing that this cooperation coincides with the celebrations of Huawei’s 20th anniversary in Türkiye. As always, we will work together with our local business partners for a greener world.”

Vahit Kaya, CEO of Orbit Energy, said in his explanation; “Energy storage is one of the critical issues in telecommunications. Our cooperation with Huawei Türkiye enables the localization of lithium batteries used in base stations. Our government also supports the local production of green energy solutions. At this point, we are proud to work with Huawei, a high-tech company. Such cooperation will further motivate local R&D centers to develop green technologies.”
