While the İzmir R&D Center will help to the development of Turkey’s wind energy potential, the technologies developed here will be exported for the company’s global operations.
Siemens Gamesa Turkey CEO Ebru Çiçekliyurt mentioned that the company continues to expand İzmir R&D Center, and they will focus on women engineer employment for strengthening gender diversity. Çiçekliyurt added: “Our İzmir team is taking part in our global R&D projects and is working on the technology of 3-5 years future. As a company, we trust the engineering potential in Turkey. The first and unique wind turbine R & D Center in Turkey will also transfer enormous know-how to Turkey. Despite a short period of time after the establishment, we have also started the process of obtaining patents for some technologies developed in our İzmir R&D center. Local manufacturers receive engineering support from our R&D center and benefit from knowledge and technology transfer. The number of localization projects we have successfully completed since the R&D center was opened has reached 12.”
