01 Apr 2021 İZMİR’S ADVANCED WIND ENERGY SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE SECTOR IN THE WORLD PRESS
İzmir has been becoming a center in clean energy and clean technology investments in Türkiye and East Europe. In the wind industry, all of the main wind turbine equipment such as blades, towers and nacelles can be produced in İzmir. İzmir’s wind energy service and maintenance sector has also started to serve the whole world. Photos of İzmir’s developed wind energy service and maintenance sector are reflected in the world press.
While İzmir and Aegean Region is home to 50% of Türkiye’s 9,305 MW wind power installed capacity, İzmir’s wind energy service and maintenance industry is also developing rapidly. İzmir companies provide wind turbine service and maintenance services in many countries in Europe and Central Asia, meantime they also receive demands from American countries such as Mexico.
While the number of rope access technicians performing maintenance and repair of turbines is increasing, employees in the sector receive certificates issued by Global Wind Organisation (GWO) authorized organizations in İzmir. The wind energy sector continues to create qualified employment in İzmir with new green jobs in service and maintenance.
