26 Mar 2021 HUGE CLEANTECH INVESTMENT IN İZMİR BY ELECTRIC VEHICLE EQUIPMENT PRODUCER ELDOR
İzmir, where became the center of Türkiye’s clean energy and clean technology investments, will host a significant investment of 105 million USD in electric vehicle charging units, by Italian automotive giant Eldor. Project-based incentives will be provided by the Turkish government for the electric vehicle systems production facility investment to be realized in the Aegean Free Zone in İzmir.
Eldor, one of the largest main suppliers of automotive brands in the world has manufacturing facilities in Italy, Türkiye, China, Brazil and the United States. The technologies produced by the company, which has globally 3,500 employees in 20 different locations, are used by 300 million vehicles around the world. Italian Eldor, which has been producing ignition coils for automobiles in the Aegean Free Zone in İzmir, Türkiye since 1998, will produce electric vehicle systems with its new investments in İzmir. The new facility, which will have an annual production capacity of 200 thousand DC-DC converters, 200 thousand battery charging units, 800 thousand energy management modules and 75 thousand HV starting modules, is aimed to create additional employment for 700 people.
The project will be completed in 6 years in stages. The project is expected to make a great contribution to the development of the electric vehicles sector, which has an important place in clean technologies, in İzmir.
