06 Aug 2020 NEW CLEAN TECHNOLOGY INVESTMENT IN İZMİR BY STARTUP COMPANY KODECO: ZOOP
Electric mini-vehicles of the Kodeco company operating in İzmir hit the road through the vehicle sharing platform ZOOP developed by the same company.
With an investment of technology company Kodeco based in Izmir, a new car-sharing platform is added to the developing electric mobility ecosystem both in the world and Türkiye in recent years. The electric mini vehicles, which the company has already developed, was combined with the vehicle sharing platform ZOOP, also developed by the company’s young brains. While ZOOP also draws the attention of investors, its journey started in Türkiye is targeted to be continued in many countries, especially in Europe. The cars of ZOOP, which can reach 70 kilometers per hour, travel with lithium-ion batteries. Cars, that can be recharged in 220-volt currents which are also used in homes, take a significant part of their energy from the sun through the panels, located on their top.
Kerem Odabaşı, the CEO, said to the AA reporter that ZOOP is a solution developed especially for short-distance transportation and added: “The mobility and sharing technology ZOOP platform will bring a new breath to the short distance transportation market with its special travel experience offered to its users. Our ZOOP mini vehicles are especially suitable for urban use. You can rent a car with a mobile application by yourself. There are examples of this rental model. However, there isn’t an example of this dimension of mini-vehicle with the provided services and user experience, in Türkiye and even in the world. With a hybrid solution like ZOOP, we offer service between micro-mobility and car. ZOOP has very unique features that micro-mobility and car sharing cannot offer together in prominent criteria such as safety, comfort, size, and economy. We want to make the ZOOP a brand that evokes mini-mobility. ”
