24 Dec 2020 JAPAN’S EBARA NEW MEMBER OF İZMİR CLEAN ENERGY AND CLEAN TECHNOLOGIES ECOSYSTEM WITH THE ACQUISITION OF VANSAN
EBARA, a global equipment manufacturer in water management, energy productions and environmental solutions, signed a contract with an İzmir company Vansan to buy its shares. With the acquisition of Vansan, Japan’s EBARA will become a new member of the İzmir Clean Energy and Clean Technologies Ecosystem. Since its establishment as a pump manufacturer in 1912, EBARA has developed business in the fields of fans and blowers, chillers, environmental plants, and eventually the precision machinery industry, continuing to broaden their business domains throughout our history of over 100 years. It has a turnover amount of 5.1 billion USD and has more than 17 thousand employees working at its subsidiaries worldwide.
In accordance with its mid-term management plan, EBARA aims at expanding sales in promising overseas regions and countries with growing populations and developing industries as a part of its global strategy. With the acquisition of Vansan, a leading Turkish pump manufacturer, EBARA will be able to enhance its global supply chain by strengthening access to markets in Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East and Africa in order to further expand its Pumps Business. The acquisition price is stated as 108 million USD.
Established in 1964 and as a leading water pump manufacturer in Türkiye, Vansan has about 64 million USD annual net sales. Focusing on water technologies, the company’s product range includes vertical turbine pumping systems and immersion pumps and engines for sectors like agriculture and geothermal energy. The company exports more than %70 of its products to over 70 countries. Vansan has two facilities in İzmir with 576 employees.
